Objectives

The objectives of i-CoME (International Conference on Management and Entrepreneurship) are:

  • To become scholar’s forum to discuss a recent scholarly work
  • To become scholars’ forum where scholars from all over the world can gather and network
  • To discover new findings that can benefit the business management and entrepreneurship world
Objectives

Key Audience

The broad target audience will be particularly focused on scholars within the Asia Pacific region. With a significant community of scholars with the management and entrepreneurship field from various both Indonesia and India, it is anticipated a significant number of participants will come from these countries. It is also anticipated that leading scholars on management and entrepreneurship from western based countries such as USA, UK and Australia are likely to come given the topic domain and location of the conference.

Conference organisers will also emphasise on attracting industry representatives from various corporations and stakeholders across India. These corporations and stakeholders are likely to be attracted by the practical and private sector focus of the conference.

Professor Wim VandekerckhoveProfessor of Business Ethics and co-Director of the Centre for Research in Employment and Work (CREW), University of Greenwich England

Professor Wim Vandekerckhove holds a Phd in Applied Ethics from Ghent University.

His research interests include whistleblowing, transparency, precarity, and philosophy of management.

He has provided expertise on whistleblowing to various organisations, including Transparency International, Public Concern at Work, the Whistleblower Advice Centre in the Netherlands, the UK Department of Health, Public Services International, the British Standards Institute, the European Commission DG Justice, and the Council of Europe.

Emeritus Professor Samir ChatterjeeEmeritus Professor . Advisory roles in Educational capacity building in UNDP, ADB , Australian Aid Programs in Asia

Emeritus Professor Samir Ranjan Chatterjee has been involved in Management education, research and training in the global arena for more than four decades through his academic position at Curtin University in Australia. He has lived and worked in many countries in Asia, Europe, U.K. and USA. During 1994-1995, he lived in Mongolia for a year as a United Nations Adviser in the development of management education in the country. Following the assignment, he worked extensively in Mongolia until 1999 as Director of a number of large capacity building programs funded by the United Nations Development Program. He have been extensively involved in executive education for senior public officials in designing, directing and teaching in programs for Aus-Aid, Asian Development Bank and World Bank in countries like China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. Between 1999-2003 , he was the Co- Director of a Masters Program in International Trade for the senior Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade ( MOFTEC) and an year long intensive program of Human Resource Training for senior officials of the Ministry of Finance ( MOF) on the eve of China’s entry into WTO funded by the Government of Australia. From 2013-2015 he was the Project Advisor of a pro-poor capacity building programme for senior Public Sector officials in Mongolia funded by the Australian Government. Professor Chatterjee has been recognised as a pioneer in Curtin University’s internationalisation programs during the decade of 1980’s and was instrumental in developing the University’s Undergraduate and post graduate programs in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong , Vietnam, China, Mauritius and Indonesia.

Professor Chatterjee has authored and co-authored eleven books, thirty five book chapters and about two hundred refereed articles in international scholarly journals and conference proceedings. He is on the Editorial Advisory Boards of numerous Scholarly journals and serves as examiner of Doctoral Dissertations from around the world. He has been a visiting fellow at many leading universities around the world including Hokkaido University, Japan, Marquette University USA, and University of Ljubljana in former Yugoslavia. The American Graduate School of International Management (AGISM) named him a Presidential Fellow in 1988-89. He has been a visitor to the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) Beijing for over 20 years. He is an adjunct faculty member for the Masters Program for Chinese Practising Managers (CMPM) at Renmin University, China. Government of Mongolia nominated him as an Adjunct Professor of the Institute of Administration and Management (IAMD) in 1995. He was a visiting professor at the E.M. Lyon Management School in France and K. S. Graduate School of Business in Switzerland in 2001. He was awarded Sir Ratan Tata Distinguished visiting fellowship for six months at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) during 1996-97 and continues his visiting relationship with IIMC through his involvement in Teaching, Research and Executive Development Programs. Van Wood (Ph.D.) is a specialist in international business having spent over 40 years involved in global marketing and trade. Dr. Wood was educated at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (spending one year as an officer aboard a U.S. merchant vessel with port destinations of Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong), the University of Washington (B.A. - Marketing 1973, M.B.A. - International Business 1975), and the University of Oregon (Ph.D. - International Marketing 1982). His teaching, research and consulting focus on “globalization” and the selection and development of international markets. He has traveled and worked in over one hundred and ten (110) countries.

His experience in the field of international business began with his work in Chile from 1975 through 1979, where his association with the firm CIDEME led to extensive international business with organizations headquartered in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Middle East, and Latin America.

Dr. Wood spent 12 years at Texas Tech University (1982 - 1994) where he developed international programs, conducted international research, and guided seminars on global business strategies.

He accepted the Philip Morris Endowed Chair in International Business at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 1994, where today he continues his international work. He has produced and moderated 24 Annual International Forums during this period each with a unique international business focus. He is the Director – VCU School of Business Center for International Business Advancement (CIBA – www.ciba.vcu.edu). He has consulted and presented his work in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Russia and North and South America.

Dr. Wood has been awarded grants to develop international programs from the Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation, the Fulbright Commission, World Bank, the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Virginia Commonwealth University, Texas Tech University, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), and other institutions. He is a past President (and current Interim Co-President, 2021-2022), and a long-term member of the Richmond, Virginia International Business Council Board of Directors (www.VAIBC.org); the Virginia World Trade Conference Planning Committee; the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce - VCU International Business Certificate Program Committee; the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board. Dr. Wood was nominated by the Dean of the VCU School of Business for the VCU Service Excellence Award in 2020 and 2021. He is the recipient of Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business “Award of Excellence - 2000” for outstanding research, teaching and service; the School’s “Award of Distinguished Teaching 2006,” for innovative and exceptional pedagogical achievement, and the School’s “Distinguished Service Award 2010, 2013 and 2018” for exemplary service both to the VCU and its outside communities. In 2009, he received the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce’s “Outstanding Lifetime International Trade Educational Services to Small Business Award.” In 2014 Dr. Wood was awarded the Virginia International Business Council’s (VAIBC) “Global Excellence Award”, which is bestowed upon the "person who has materially contributed to the promotion of world trade in Virginia."
